FAQs
Questions, answered honestly.
What kind of support do I need?
You don't need to know before you get in touch. Broadly, counselling helps you understand and work through difficult feelings and experiences, while coaching helps you clarify goals and move forward. Try our Find the Right Support guide, or simply tell us what's going on and we'll help you choose.
Who will I speak to?
You'll speak with a Sanguine practitioner — a psychology-trained professional. As Sanguine's practitioner network grows, we'll match you with the person best suited to what you're looking for.
What happens in the first session?
It's a conversation, not an assessment. We'll talk about what's brought you here, what you'd like to change and how we might work together. You can share at your own pace and ask anything.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and your practitioner, within standard professional limits — such as a serious risk to your safety or someone else's. We'll explain these clearly before you begin.
How do I get started?
Send us a short message through our contact form. You don't need to share personal details about what you're going through — just how we can reach you and what kind of support you're curious about.
